Best Restaurants For the Gourmet Traveller in Australia

The editor of Gourmet Traveller in Australia, Leo Schofield, has shared some of his favorite places to dine in Sydney, Melbourne and Tasmania. He recommends Sean's Panorama in Bondi, Sydney.
This is a seriously funky, marshmallow pink restaurant that specializes in simple and delicious fare like steamed King George whiting with a prawn and celery mousse, and corn-fed duck salad with grapes. The ingredients used are all sourced form owner/chef Sean Moran's fame, and the the restaurant's location in a former garage on Campbell Parade is unique as well. @VDL is another top Schofield recommendation close to his second home in Tasmania. The restaurant is located in the fishing village of Stanley is a great spot for evening drinks by a cozy fire. Cafe Di Stasio in Melbourne is an upmarket Italian restaurant which is praised for its prawn linguine, and braised lamb with white wine, anchovies, rosemary and garlic with exceptional service.
